Christian Statesman     Internship Program

Are You Not in San Diego?                                - A Proposal -

Application to Any Region:

The CSIP program is designed to apply to any metropolitan area. Consisting of lectures with content that applies to our Christian walk and influence universally, it also contains insights and information specifically tailored to the region where it is presented. This tailoring includes the local political environment as well as invited local guest speakers that are engaged in living the Christian walk in their professional pursuits.

Program Description:

CSIP is a novel program drawing from wide ranging contemporary materials and unique personal experience to focus on skills development to biblically, with wisdom, stand for righteousness as salt and light in the world around us (Matthew 5:13-16).  It draws from extensive scriptural principles and practical examples to mentor godly statesmen and stateswomen to impact our individual spheres of influence for the glory of God.

Premise:

Virtually every part of our life has become politicized in one form or another. Public and private hostility towards our faith and our biblical values present incredible opportunities for God’s truth to be given in a credible and winsome manner.  Current events in particular, because of their political and emotional character, lend themselves to conversations that can acknowledge alternative views yet establish the credibility of Christian views. To not capitalize on these everyday occurrences does little to further kingdom work and protect the free expression of our faith and values during private and business pursuits.

Background & Features:

  • CSIP was developed under the watchcare of a Pastoral Governance Board (five different church pastors) and a Content Advisory Board (seven church ministry leaders from six churches)
  • CSIP content draws on over 20 years of personal experience ministering to evangelical churches and faith receptive secular organizations in applying a biblical worldview to our salt and light opportunities in every sphere of influence we have – including family, neighborhood, employment and even government.
  • Key features include eight (8) sessions conducted on three (3) weekends, each comprised of:
    •  An interactive lecture providing biblical skills & practical tools to tenderly communicate truth in hostile environments that range from close family to political adversaries
    • A challenging question and answer time on current events
    • A different invited guest speaker each session that will transparently discuss how their faith informs their professional decisions in a hostile public environment
    • Detailed lecture handouts for future reference as well as optional homework for family discussion or individual skills development (there are not tests)
    • Typical agenda:
      • Arrival/social time/prayer (15 minutes)
      • Q&A on current news topic (20 minutes)
      • Lecture (Frank Kacer) (45 minutes)
      • Break (15 minutes)
      • Invited guest speaker/Q&A (Different invited speaker each time) (1 hour)
      • Re-cap lessons learned from the invited speaker (without speaker present) (20 minutes)
      • Prayer/close (5 minutes)

Costs:

  • A donation of $100 per registered Intern ($25 for each additional family member) covers all program materials costs, munchies and honorariums. This donation is tax deductible since CSIP is a ministry of the Christian Citizenship Council (C3) of San Diego, a 501c3 organization
