“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my
path”
(Psalm 119:105)
Ultimate Standard
- The Word of God (the Bible) is the ultimate standard to judge all matters of faith and practice (Proverbs
30:5-6; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Everything CSIP develops, documents and presents is accountable for conformance to the plain teachings and
principles of the Word of God (1 Corinthians 4:6; 2 John 9)
- The merit, or worth, of all CSIP activities and materials are to be constantly measured against the
following criteria:
- Does it bring glory to almighty God (1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17)?
- Does it contribute to our freedoms to: proclaim the gospel; freely worship; and make personal and public
(private and business) decisions according to the dictates of our religious convictions (1 Timothy 6:11-14; 2 Timothy 4:1-5)?
Non-Attribution/Confidentiality (1 Peter 2:17a)
- CSIP participants are to follow a non-attribution policy concerning guest lecturers, unless attribution is
clearly allowed by the lecturer
- All materials provided to Interns are for their use and are not intended to be distributed further
without prior approval
- All Intern session conversations, group discussions and Q&A periods are to be treated with
confidentiality unless expressly allowed by those involved
Mutual Respect
- All discussions amongst Interns and with class presenters must be with the expectation of reciprocated
respect and charity, while assuming the best of each other (Ephesians 4:32)
- When disagreements occur, clarification of the factors creating the disagreement may be more important than
winning the argument (Ecclesiastes 7:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:21)
- Healthy debate is encouraged, but with the objective that Biblical principles will be employed as much as is
practicable and reasonable (1 Corinthians 11:19; 2 Timothy 2:14-16)
- If specific, differing doctrinal positions have direct relevance to a topic at hand, understanding the
implications of the different doctrinal positions is preferred over extended doctrinal debate (Romans 14:1; 1 Timothy 1:3-4)
Direct Political Engagement
- There is no intention (2 Timothy 2:4) for CSIP, as a formal organization, to:
- Become any type of Para-church organization
- Become a Political Action Committee (PAC) of any kind
- Endorse any political candidate for elective office
- Take an official position on pending legislation or a ballot initiative
- The invitation of current or former politicians or public office holders to speak at CSIP meetings does not
carry with it any endorsement, either direct or implied (Romans 3:23)
